The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has approved the construction of a dual carriage way on the Akoda-Cottage Junction, Oke Gada-Ido Osun-Ofatedo road.

The 23 kilometer dualisation work also has a spur which will take care of Oke Gada-Army Barrack-Ara Junction and INEC Junction-Egbedi Junction.

The project will commence immediately with a combined team of the Ministry of Works and Transport, Ministry of Lands and the Office of the Surveyor-General all at the sight for a low key flaggoff.

Coodinating the flag-off at the Cottage Junction, Ede, the Director Highways in the Ministry of Works, Engr. Basiru Bello said the Governor granted the approval of the project with the aim of opening up all major towns in the state.

He said the Governor believes that the economic prosperity of any society begins with good infrastructure in place, especially well dualised roads which will attract investors.

Engr. Bello added that the Governor intends to quickly change the face of Osun State with dual carriage ways in almost all the major towns in the state.

“Governor Adeleke wants a new Osun, our Governor wants to quickly make the State very attractive to visitors and would be investors.

“The Governor has ordered that every road leading to the State capital be put in good condition and work has already started,” he stated.

He called on residents of the ancient town to cooperate with construction workers as the job commences in earnest.

He also urged them to bear the attendant pain and hardship they may face before the project is completed.
